A horse shoe and a foot from a stock fence support carries a broken axe head and a rake-like device with links attached.
The axe is the weapon for which the Vikings were notorious.
The vicious rake symbolises their ruthless forward thrust.
The horizontal chain links form a banner blown by the cold winds of the North Sea which brought them to our shores.
